Hornsby Mercedes

A major redevelopment on the Pacific Highway Waitara, has changed the face of a major car dealership. Changing face is the Hornsby Mercedes dealership which was built by Williams River Steel for Hornsby Automotive Group.

The project commenced in the latter part of 2009, with Mercedes temporarily relocating to the former Peugot site, before moving across the road into the new premises on completion.

Built in stages, stage 1 being the showroom, while a workshop parking/display area formed the second stage. Primarily designed using structural steel and precast concrete spin up panels, the front two facade areas feature full height glass shop fronts whichcompliment the overall design of the building perfectly. The buidling also contains 3 levels of office/administration and a coffee loung.

There are a number of advantages to the residents and current traffic issues of Hornsby with this redevelopment of sites, as the dealerships must comply with the latest buiding & construction standards. This includes the mandatory truck & disabled access. Williams River Steel worked closely with Ezzy Architects who were co ordinating this project. Mercedes Benz of Australia have flagged the new showroom as the benchmark for new dealerships throughout the Eastern states of Australia.
